Mr. Ross began working at a small firm as an Actuarial Analyst in August 1990. He became a Senior Property and Casualty Consulting Actuary in 2005. He provides a variety of reserving and rating actuarial services to regulatory and industry clients.

Mr. Ross consults with property and casualty insurers, captive insurance companies, risk retention groups, reinsurers, and self-insured plans of all sizes and types. Mr. Ross is the appointed actuary for approximately 100 captive insurance companies, working in several domiciles. He specializes in reserving, captive insurance, reinsurance accounting and risk transfer.

Mr. Ross has spoken at regional and national educational seminars.  His subjects include reinsurance accounting and risk transfer, unearned premium reserves on long-duration contracts, premium deficiency reserves, coordinating the claims audit and reconciliation functions between actuaries and financial examiners, and issues related to the regulation of workers’ compensation self-insured groups.

Mr. Ross has also presented seminar discussions to university students interested in the actuarial career.

Josh Anderson joined Allegiant at the end of 2012 and has already proven to be quite an asset. He works as an actuarial analyst under the direction of Mr. Ross. Josh has already passed one actuarial exam and is scheduled to take another exam in February. His long term career goal is to get his actuarial credentials and become a member of the Casualty Actuarial Society.

Mr. Anderson’s degrees are in mathematics and physics. Graduate work in statistics, along with his understanding of Excel has made his transition from data analyst to actuarial analyst almost effortless. He has a strong understanding of data analysis and financial projections. His great work ethic and attention to detail make him a pleasure for other staff, as well as clients, to relate.

Steve Alexander

Steve Alexander is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society with several years of experience in pricing, reserving and regulation of all lines of property and casualty insurance. Additionally he was certified in 2014 as a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries specializing in health insurance. He recently retired from the state of Florida Office of the Insurance Consumer Advocate and is now consulting full-time. Previously, he worked as a consultant for Mercer Oliver Wyman and Ernst and Young. To stay current, he just recently completed the Statistical Learning course offered by Stanford University.

He has an MBA from the University of Utah graduating first in his class of over 500 students (Phi Kappa Phi and Beta Gamma Sigma), a BS in meteorology from the University of Utah (while serving as an officer in the US Air Force) and a BS in mathematics from the University of Michigan.
